Format compatibility & conversion limits

Imports text and cue times in UTF-8; styling, position, animation and word-level karaoke timing are not retained. ASS/SSA exports use a default style and 10 ms precision. LRC has start times only: import ends at the next timestamp, with 3 seconds for the last line; exporting LRC omits end times. TTML supports media-relative paragraphs, inherited timing, frames and ticks; timed spans, sequential containers, clock/SMPTE time bases and ASS drawings are rejected.

Example: shift game-night captions

Load Example for four original game-night captions. In Timing & text tools, set Shift to 500 ms and Time scale to 100%, then apply once. The first cue moves from 1.000–4.000 s to 1.500–4.500 s. Its text and 3-second duration stay the same. Export SRT or VTT to keep both start and end times.

LRC stores start times only, so it cannot preserve this example’s 0.5-second gaps. Importing the exported LRC again extends each cue to the next start and gives the last cue 3 seconds.

Before you start

UTF-8, up to 2 MB / 2,000 cues. Imports text and cue times; styles, position and word-level effects are not retained. LRC endings are inferred; its final cue defaults to 3 seconds. ASS drawings and advanced TTML timing fail explicitly. No transcription or translation.
