Volunteer shift planner
Plan event shifts, set people’s availability, fill vacancies and adjust assignments. Check overlaps and workload, then export a roster or save an editable plan locally.
How to use
- Add people, then adjust their weekly availability, excluded dates and total time limits.
- Create dated shifts and required headcounts; repeat a shift across consecutive dates if needed.
- Fill vacancies, review conflicts and workloads, adjust manually and export the checked roster.
Before you start
Up to 30 people and 60 same-day shifts spanning at most 90 calendar days; 1–10 people per shift. All times are local wall-clock times, with no timezone conversion or overnight shifts. Availability uses weekdays, a daily time window, excluded dates and an optional total-minute limit for the whole plan. Example: someone available until 12:00 cannot take an 11:00–13:00 shift. Fill vacancies preserves existing assignments and favors constrained shifts and people with fewer assigned minutes; it is a heuristic, not a guarantee of a complete or optimal schedule. Review remaining vacancies manually. Changed availability may flag existing assignments; resolve conflicts before automatic filling or roster export. No employment-rule, rest-period, payroll or skill qualification checks. TXT import adds one person per line with default full-day availability; JSON restores the whole plan. Files up to 1 MB. Save JSON before closing; no automatic storage or notifications.
