How to use

  1. Choose units, kerf and trim, then list stock lengths and available quantities.
  2. Add required part lengths and quantities, or import a three-column CSV.
  3. Generate a layout, review unplaced parts and each bar, then download a report or save the plan.

Before you start

Lengths only, for the same material and cross-section. Up to 20 stock types, 50 part types, 500 required pieces and 500 total finite-stock bars; unlimited stock estimates needed bars. Lengths up to 100 m, kerf up to 100 mm. Units mm/cm/m/in/ft; up to three decimal places or fractions with denominators 1, 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64, such as 12 1/2. Choose dot or comma decimals; thousands separators are not supported. Changing the unit reinterprets the entered numbers rather than converting them. End trim is reserved at both ends and must already include trimming kerf. A full kerf is reserved after each piece unless the last piece ends exactly at the usable stock end; partial blade overhang is not assumed. Example: 1000 mm stock, two 400 mm pieces, 3 mm kerf and no trim leave 194 mm. The worker compares deterministic heuristic layouts; no global optimum or infeasibility proof. Unplaced pieces stay visible. No 2D sheet layouts, angles, grain, defects, purchasing prices or machine control. Diagrams are schematic; dimensions refer to the raw left end. CSV import appends name/length/quantity columns, with a header, UTF-8, up to 1 MB; save form rows before calculating. JSON saves committed settings only, up to 512 KB. No automatic saving or uploads.
